Let me tell you…. The commitment of marriage is NOT for the weak. It is difficult, and at times can feel like a never ending uphill battle. In the midst of all the responsibilities you have, finding time for your husband or wife may be close to impossible. If you don’t have a basic understanding of what love is, you will find yourself wanting to call it quits. Here is what my husband has taught me about love:
Love is unconditional. There is no “If you don’t do this, you don’t love me.”
It gives you the ability to forgive, and be forgiven.
If you love someone, you better prove it. Because love is not a noun to be defined, but a verb to be acted upon.
Choose your battles. It is never about winning or losing, and it is okay to let certain things go.
It doesn’t hold you back. In fact, love motivates you and helps you grow in all areas of your life.
Everyone has different definitions, but I’m sure we can all agree that love is not supposed to hurt more than it feels good. And I think that is the most valuable thing that anyone can be ever be shown.
What has love taught you?
