Long time no see, mis amores! If you’ve been keeping up with me for a while, you might know that I am a part of an amazing group of women called The LA Mommy Blogger Tribe. We get together for events and try to hang out at least once a month. So when Naza put together the first brunch of the year at Joe’s Cafe…well I just HAD to go.
Located in Old Granada Hills, Joe’s Cafe is a tiny treasure that serves up a modern twist on classic American breakfast and lunch dishes. It is owned by power couple Joe and Aliceon Wetherbee. Talk about some serious marriage goals!
From the moment I walked in, I felt right at home. Which makes sense because everything in Joe’s Cafe is all local and all homemade- the signs, the lighting fixtures and yes, even the food. The atmosphere was friendly, down to earth, warm and inviting. While it gives off major mom and pop vibes, Joe’s was recently featured on the Travel Channel’s Food Paradise- so they are kinda a big deal.
We sat down, got our drinks, and dove right in to talking about our blogs and goals. It was refreshing to be around people who not only understood the struggles of mom life, but also the ones of blog life.
Before we ordered, Aliceon informed us that two people could share one plate, I thought HA! Girl I could eat that french toast all by myself. But oh, how I was wrong. The portions were HUGE! You are definitely getting your money’s worth..and then some.
Breakfast is my favorite kind of food and I can almost never pass up french toast. But I ended up looking at everything on the menu with heart eyes. It ALL sounded good! The girls and I chose to eat family style so thankfully we were able to try more than just one dish. First things first though, we had to get our pictures in. You know, blogger priorities.
Here is everything I tried:
- Stuffed French Toast
- Pork Belly Eggs Benedict
- Ojan’s Junk- (a pancake sandwich? YES please)
- Avocado Toast
- P-cake Balls (house made sausage dipped and fried in pancake batter, yum)
And none of it disappointed! I found out that Joe was actually a contestant on Food Network’s Chopped and won a few years ago. How cool is that?! Not only did the food taste great but the service we received was amazing, too. Our servers talked to us, joined in on our laughs and were very sweet and attentive.
Joe’s Cafe claims to hold three things very dear; family, friends and community- and it shows. Aside from being all local and homemade, Joe’s has local artists come in Friday and Saturday nights to play live music in the cafe. You can also make reservations for Comedy a la Carte, their live stand up comedy night, and try some of the local craft beer and wine.
Joe’s is open everyday for breakfast and lunch from 7:30am to 3pm. They are open for dinner Thursday through Saturday, 5pm to 10pm. Whether you’re going to meet up with friends, having a family Sunday brunch or in need of a date (hint, hint grandma!), Joe’s Cafe is the perfect place to enjoy yourself.
Thank you Joe’s Cafe for hosting The La Mommy Blogger Tribe for our first brunch of the year. 10/10 would recommend (and will be back!)
