Be a gentleman. Open doors, pull out chairs, act respectfully, give compliments and always wait to make sure your date gets inside safely at the end of the night.

Let your mother teach you how to cook. Trust me, my future daughter in law will thank the both of us. So will your college roommates.

A good haircut is always worth the money. Deodorant and cologne, too.

Be reliable. If you say you are going to do something, do it. Your word and your loyalty speak volumes to your character.

Having possessions does not make you a better man. Or better than anyone, for that matter.

It is never okay to hit a woman. Ever.

A real man has nothing to hide. If you have to lie about something, then you already know you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place. (Unless it’s a surprise, those are okay.)

Your soul mate is not a gold digger. If you buy a woman a gift and she gets upset you didn’t spend more money on it or if you find yourself buying gifts because she expects them and not because you want to, get rid of her.

Good friends will always look out for you and care about your well being. Always be a good friend and you will have good friends.

I love you unconditionally. This one may be the most important. I would do anything for you. No matter how many times I scrunch up my face and get frustrated with you, you will always be one of the best things to ever happen to me. I will always be your biggest fan.
